How to Create a Simple + Elegant Christmas Table

Seasonal

the blog:

The dining table is an important place during the holiday season.  It’s where you’ll gather with friends and family around tons of food, make memories and give thanks for each other.  So…setting the table…while it may seem trivial, is important!

The goal is to welcome your guests by creating an inviting space WITHOUT breaking the bank!  In this post I am going to share exactly that!  And if you saw my recently Thanksgiving table you’ll notice I reused several items.

PS – I’ve teamed up with a few of my favorite bloggers to share several table ideas with you! If you’re joining me from Deborah’s blog, welcome!  She’s a dear and talented friend.

To find the full list of bloggers on todays tour, just scroll to the end of this post. You don’t want to miss it!

I’ve added source links for each table product in the gold boxes below each section.  Just click the box for any product information you’re interested in.

Centerpiece Design

Let’s break this down!  Aside from the trees and cedar chargers (which I’ll share in more detail below), all other items on this table could be used again throughout the year.

On top of a simple white linen runner, I added 5 trees, one in a grouping of three and two that are standing alone.  TIP: You can mimic this look using trees you already have or by using other holiday decor and grouping it similarly.

The candlesticks (which will be coming to my shop in 2020) are an everyday item that can be used all around the house.  But for the holiday…they’re my favorite piece to add in MASS to the table.  The glow they give off is all you need to set the mood.  In fact, if you’re on a strict budget this year…you could create an amazing table with nothing more than candles and fresh tree trimming scraps from your local nursery.

Individual Place Setting

For the individual place settings, I layered items to create an elegant look.  Staying within a neutral color palette gave the setting a simple elegance.  Here’s a breakdown of the layers for each place setting.

The bark napkin ring serves two functions.  It’s a decorative way to display your napkins PLUS it’s a place card holder.

And last but not least, don’t forget your glassware.  I always add champagne flutes and water glasses and depending upon the meal, I’ll add additional glasses as needed.   (For photo purposes I didn’t add any additional glassware so you could see the table design more clearly.)

Thanks so much for joining me. I hope this has given you a few ideas to create a beautiful space to gather with your loved ones!

Be sure to pop over to my friend Leanna’s post next to gather up more holiday table inspiration.

Happiest of Holidays!

xoxo
