Growing up with an Italian Mom….the holidays were ALWAYS centered around the meal. Every minute of the day revolved around the meal and when the eating would commence. Now that I have my own family to cook holiday meals for…not a thing has changed. It’s still all about the food.
Thanksgiving is my favorite meal to eat BUT Christmas is my favorite holiday to cook! The foods I select for my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day menu are fancy and a lot of the food can be prepared in advance so I don’t spend my entire day in the kitchen (which is important to me having a young kiddo).
My favorite part about the Christmas meal is picking up my food. I order filet, seafood and Italian meats from speciality markets all around San Diego. I drive all over town to crazy crowded stores and it’s so darn festive. The stores are insanely packed, the lines are ridiculous and EVERYONE is in such a festive mood. There’s something about that experience that truly makes it feel like the holidays to me.
But enough of me blabbing…here is what we will be feasting on for the Christmas holiday this year!
