Our 1/4 acre slice of paradise and the #1 reason we purchased this home. We spend a TON of time back here and this year we’ve spent even more. We created a covered dining space by painting an old pergola and adding corrugated metal to create a roof. Living in Southern California, our furniture is outside all your long and we can enjoy this space throughout the entire year!  
 
TIP: After we bought this house we found out it didn’t have hardwired landscape lighting. To have it installed under the existing concrete would have been very costly. Instead, we added tons of retro string lights.

We get a soft subtle glow around the yard and that's just the right amount of light.

Let’s talk about the FANCY shed! Basements are far and few between in Southern California. We have lots of square footage inside our home but little to no storage. There was one spot in the yard we could add a shed for more storage BUT that spot is just outside the dining room window. I asked my carpenters that were working on my kitchen renovation at the time to build something cute! And voila! This adorable thing arrived. It’s custom for this space and honestly didn’t cost much more than a commercial option!
