The dining room…the place where the holidays happen and memories around the dinner table are made. And then for rest of the year…it’s the room that no one uses! Which…truth be told, I kinda love because then there’s always one perfectly tidy clean room in the house.
Here are a few fun details about this room that helped us save on our renovation costs.
We tiled over the existing flooring to save on demo costs. The is a sunken in room and the fireplace on the back wall had a 2” lip that allowed us to tile over tile without issue. Here’s an instagram post to better explain.
The fireplace mantle is original to the home as well. Instead of replacing it, we used the original mantle as the base and we built on top to raise the overall height.
This bold dining room is currently my favorite room in the house! A solid black wall, marble flooring and a mix of white, black, brass + wood…what’s not to love...
